Residency Summary
Xielin Liu is one of the most respected and original thinkers in China, studying technology policy, innovation and entrepreneurship. Liu presented a public lecture on innovation policy in China as well as guest lectured in class and mentored student leaders. He also met with local San Diego leaders as he served as a guest speaker for a 21st Century China Program salon event.
Biography
He has played a prominent role in advising the Chinese government on the making of its technology development strategies. He now occupies an important position as a professor and associate dean of the School of Management as well as director of research at the Center of Management of Information and Innovation at the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the country's foremost institution for scientific research. He is able to shed insight into one of the most pivotal aspects of China's global rise. He received his B.S. from Peking University, his M.S. from the Chinese Academy of Sciences and his Ph.D. from Tsinghua University.
