Residency Summary
Rizal Sukma spoke at two public talks on Indonesia’s foreign policy within the framework of domestic political context and also within the context of geopolitical changes in the Asia–Pacific. He made several connections with graduate students who are looking for internships at think tanks. He also guest lectured in professor Ka Mi Jong's GPS Bahasa Indonesia class as well as toured and met with Qualcomm Inc. senior staff.
Biography
Rizal Sukma is currently the executive director of the Center for Strategic and International Studies in Jakarta, named “Top 100 Global Thinkers” by Foreign Policy magazine. He received his Ph.D. in international relations from the London School of Economics and Political Science. He is chair of international relations of the Muhammadiyah Central Executive Board, the second largest Islamic organization in the world, and also a member of board of the Institute for Peace and Democracy, the implementing agency for the Bali Democracy Forum.
