Residency Summary
Xiaonian Xu's research interests include macroeconomics, finance, financial institutions and financial markets, transitional economies and economic reform in China. Xu spoke about the Chinese economy in a post-crisis world at a public lecture. During his stay he also guest lectured in classes and mentored students, and met leaders from the San Diego Chinese community.
Biography
He is a professor of economics and finance at China Europe International Business School (CEIBS). Before joining CEIBS in 2004, He worked for China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC) as managing director and head of research. He has also served as an assistant professor at Amherst College in Massachusetts, where he taught economics and financial markets, and as a research fellow with the State Development Research Center of China. He holds a Ph.D. in economics from UC Davis and an M.A. in industrial economics from People's University of China.
